For Immediate Release
Gifting of over 70 Cars to Local Victims

Des Plaines, IL

Over 100 Chicago-area AutoValue / Bumper to Bumper Certified Service Centers are partnering with The Original 1- 800-Charity Cars Organization and AutoWares of Illinois, Inc. to refurbish donated vehicles and award them to over 70 recipients who have escaped domestic violence and other difficult life environments.

The AutoValue / Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign is working with a number of agencies to locate and select worthy recipients in need of an automobile to start rebuilding their lives, right here in Greater Chicagoland. The Chicago-area event is part of the larger nationwide Campaign which is approaching its goal of gifting over 500 vehicles across North America in 2007 and early 2008.

The Chicago-area group created, then launched, the inaugural Campaign in 2005 by gifting 100 vehicles on Oct. 16, 2005, the largest single vehicle donation in history by all accounts. That Campaign was so well-received by the national organization, The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, based in San Antonio, TX, that the nationwide group of auto parts stores, parts distributors and independently-owned auto repair shops insisted the Campaign be expanded in 2007 throughout the U.S. and Canada.

On Sunday, September 23, 2007, these recipients will be given their cars in the parking lot of the Rosemont Theatre at 5400 N. River Road in Rosemont, IL.

The Campaign brings small auto service business owners together with local charitable agencies in order to help recovering victims of domestic abuse rebuild their lives. How? By meeting a single, pressing need: give them a reliable car so they can hold down a job, take care of the kids, and adapt to a new life free of abuse and danger.

The 100+ Chicago-area AutoValue / Bumper to Bumper Certified Service Centers have joined forces with The Original1- 800-Charity Cars organization (Charity Cars, Inc. a 501-C-3 Non-profit charity, FED ID #59-3362703), which specializes in providing roadworthy vehicles to qualified recipients.

The AutoValue / Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign invites you to join the presentation of Charity Car donations and participate in the days’ important festivities. The event, which runs from 11:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M., will feature prominent local public officials and celebrity guests, including an appearance by Sam Memmolo, host of SPEED-TV’s “2 Guys’ Garage,” as well as nationally-known celebrity impersonator Dale Leigh as ‘President Bill Clinton’; a DJ, a classic car exhibit, a clown and light complementary refreshments, including hot dogs, chips, and soda pop. The highlight is the awarding of the refurbished vehicles to over 70 individual recipients, selected by a number of local shelters and other agencies.
