Highlighting Those In Need: Bobbi From Tennessee

Car Donation Applicant Bobbi1-800-Charity Cars, conductors of the nations leading car donation/distribution program, established the www.freecharitycars.org website, where struggling families from across the country sign up and apply for a free charity car. Today, we would like to share the story of one of our car donation applicants who applied for a vehicle donation.

Bobbi Baines has been a dedicated member of our vehicle distribution website since April 30, 2010, where she filled out an application for assistance in receiving a vehicle. Here is a summary of her situation that she wanted to share:

“For four hours I was held hostage, terrorized and then shot twice in the chest by my husband at that time. He first pointed the gun at my head then lowered it and fired twice hitting me directly in the chest. I had my left kidney, spleen, and part of my pancreas removed. Ten months later, I had another surgery and the doctors said I wouldn’t be able to work any longer. I subsequently had to have several other surgeries. Due to my pancreas being removed I then developed diabetes, and I have been on an insulin pump for almost four years now. I am also developing arthritis in my feet and spine.

I am in desperate need of a vehicle. There isn’t any public transit where I live, and I can not afford cabs. Due to my physical condition walking anywhere is out of the question for me. I do not have any transportation, any family or friends to help me, and I have been stuck home bound for years now. My only income is $700 per month and I cannot afford to buy a vehicle. I’m under the care of five doctors I’ve accumulated over the past twenty years. Due to my lack of transportation I have missed many medically necessary appointments.

Charity Cars is my last and only hope. I’m always praying that not only myself, but everyone in need will soon be blessed. Thank you for taking time to read my story, and thank you to all of those who have and will make a donation of a car or money to Charity Cars so they can continue to help change the lives of people like me.”
