Thank you for the 1995 Ford Escort. I am the director of a shelter for battered women. Starting November 1, 2007 we have the good fortune to have an Americorp worker for 1 year. This worker will do follow-up with families after they leave & assist with resources such as: going back to school, help with ongoing court hearings regarding assaults and providing information & referrals to other community agencies that may be helpful. The worker did not have a car but a valid driver's license. She will be using the donated car this year to meet with ex-residents & to train a group of community volunteers to carry on the work after she leaves. After this year, the car will be donated to a family who is "starting over". We are extremely grateful to you for your generous gift.

Thank you for my 1998 Plymouth Neon. I was a battered woman for over 5 years. I finally went to a shelter with my 2 children & am now in a transitional living house. It was very hard to get my kids to daycare by bus & then catch another one to my work. Thank you so much for helping me with this car.
